Weight Loss | Are You Ready to Lose Weight without Harming Your Health
When it comes to dieting being bad for your health most people think of celebrities and their crazy fads like getting into a size zero or even worse double zero. Absolutely crazy, putting their bodies through hell and for what? Does it look natural? Not to me and many others think the same way. But when we decide we must lose some weight it is important that we do it in a way that we are not doing damage to our bodies and general health.
If you diet by starving yourself your body reacts accordingly. Our bodies have evolved over years and years and have learned to recognise when food is short and react by storing fat and energy. So crash dieting initially has the opposite effect to that which is desired.
Those over the top celebrity dieters seem to think their bodies can live on nothing but nothing is further from the truth. Their bodies have to find something to live on and what they do not seem to realise is that their bodies start to digest their own body tissue - what a lovely thought. What is even worse is that the body takes what it can get to keep itself going and if not kept in check the consequences can be life threatening.
If you get yourself to this level you need help to get back. It is not a case of eating all you can get into yourself as your body cannot cope after being starved for so long.
Guess what the ultimate consequence is? You will probably end up putting the weight back on that you have given yourself so much stress and discomfort losing.
You are probably reading this and thinking that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. You know you need to lose weight but fast weight loss is not the way to go.
There are so many diets available to us these days that it can be confusing and costly on your pocket and health. Just because one person cuts out certain foods and drinks a magic potion does not mean that it will work for us.
There are some exceptions but for many of us the reason we put on too much weight is that we eat the wrong type of foods, at the wrong time of day and very often too much. The more we eat, the more we seem to have room for. The best way to lose weight and keep that weight off is to control your intake of good quality food. Easier said than done you may say and you would be right, no one said it would be easy and if they are you should not listen.
Find a diet plan that suits you, is long term, not a fad and has been medically approved.
