How to Maintain the Effects of a Diet
After a certain amount of dieting time you're finally satisfied with your figure, it is time to learn how to keep the new weight for a longer period. We've put together a few advices that will help to keep the weight off and maintain a healthy and harmonious silhouette and optimal health:
Take back gradually the normal alimentation habits - the conversion is pretty easy avoiding any kind of aliment in excess. The most difficult period in which you may regain the lost weight are the first two weeks following the end of the diet. It is the period with the highest risk of being overweight again and the yo-yo effect.
Do not abandon the good alimentation habits! - If during the diet you got used to good foods beneficent for your health, keep on consuming them after the diet is over. You may keep certain recipes from the diet which will assure you a figure to envy. Don't forget that any kind of balanced weight loss diet may become a healthy eating habit for life!
Make sport a habit! - They say when someone quits a sport there's the risk of getting overweight. Imagine, that the same can happen to you when you "quitting" diet. The organism was used to a certain amount of calories, however low. Returning to normal calorie intake, if not done gradually, will reflect in weight gain. You may rebalance this with introducing in your daily schedule at least a half hour of physical activity: go to the gym, do whatever sport you enjoy.
One day of excess, two days of restriction - If one day you've consumed sweets in excess - products with high content of fat or sugars - it means a get away from a balanced nutrition, but do not panic. To make sure that the excess won't be reflected by the scale, take two days of break from … the sweets! It does not mean starvation; just keep an eye on what you consume. Rather choose fruits and vegetables, integral cereals and yogurt. After such two days the effects of the sweets in excess will disappear for good!
